I am a writer and I love books. I love reading, travelling to new dimensions and experiencing life in the shoes of another.
It helps to liberate my mind and heart. It sparks an urge for adventure. Feeling as though I am walking the streets of Washington DC; exploring the Pentagon, entering the Santa Maria de la Sede Cathedral or perhaps ordering “One Porky sitting, hash browns, cardiac shingles” at the Picu Mundo Grill where Odd Thomas settles into his day after an adrenalin filled morning rush.
Books have been with us for so long, and even though there is no exact date for when books have made its way into existence, we do however know that between 618 and 907 AD–The period of the Tang Dynasty–the first printing of books started in China.
Nevertheless, we have the privilege to read the Holy Bible – to learn about the life of Jesus Christ and His nature. Inspiring us to be humble, thankful and teaching us what is true love. Unconditional love. Becoming peacemakers in Christ, liberating our souls through forgiveness. Teaching us how to forgive.
Teaching us that when God corrects us, He only does so because He loves us. Those who love you want what's best for you. That, which will protect and not harm you. Learning how to be strong, to trust God through thick and thin. He is there for you as He is for me.
You have two options in life; you can either:
1. Trust in God
2. Worry
You cannot do both. That will purely drain your energy, and you will quickly lose motivation and the passion that God graces upon you. We cannot take the problems and tasks of the Lord into our own hands. We will stumble, fall and fail aimlessly.
I cannot doubt my God when his teaching is so close in my reach – a simple download of the Holy Scriptures and my day is enlightened and Blessed. No excuses in our day and age. Neither before, nor after. I come short, I have my faults and failings, I AM NOT PERFECT.
However, I do try. I ask God to show me where I go wrong and teach me to improve on my inner being. It’s not easy, yes, but with GOD all impossibilities are made possible!
OUR GOD IS GREAT!!!
Thank God, that He taught us how to read. Thank God for the inspiration of His Holy Spirit outpouring, and thank God for teachers. Shaping us for the future. Thank God, that He is our teacher, our mentor, refuge, shield and strength.
Bonus just for you beautiful Children of God:
Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
Looking forward to the blessings and tranquality of being in the House of the Lord again - thank God that on the 21st of September 2020, we'll be in lockdown level 1, South Africa!
Let us look forward to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the Blessings that await us.
