Last week as I was doing this run for charity, my nerves got the best of me:
I was afraid that if I don't win in time I might disappoint a lot of people.
As I saw people passing me left and right, I began to shake from nervousness, I thought these orphans won't be getting their money, but this guy who was jogging at the same pace that I was running asked, "Why are you running?".
I told him I had to get to the finish line in time to win for charity, and he said, "There's no specific time limit or position you have to finish in to win, you can go at your own pace and still win for your charity."
These words stuck by me, because I've always thought there is a certain age for a specific thing to happen in life, but in reality we all have to run, jog, or walk at our own pace even if it takes longer than others.
Great reflective question: Why are you running?
We are all individuals and have our own destiny! Our pace might be different yet MAGICAL in there own way! Great reminder!
