Red

Written by: Micaleb Lawrence

I thought about a colour when I first saw it.

When it first made sense.

The sky was blue, but the colour was red.

Slightly close to orange the colour remained red.

When it all made sense.

The way the sirens would go, and commuters would react to the colour made it real.

It made it necessary.

At the end of the spectrum red became what mattered.

It became, life to the living.

Gave courage and held connections between those who bear witness.

To the noise and the alarming struggles,

Red saved those who needed saving,

Loved those who lacked it

And red woke me up from the inside giving me more passion to live than before.
