Pick my pocket

Written by Oratile Ndimande

Please stay a while?

Please stay nestled by my thighs

Be picky about which fingers feel you

And pick my pocket. Pick mine!

Hold me for this short while and comfort me with your presence

Hold me down, fill my belly and my pockets with your presents

Please don’t leave?

I know you are not like leaves in a tree

But hang with me for a while

I’ll do what I can to keep you around

I’ll tie myself to a desk

I’ll suit up and clean another’s mess

Could you please come back?

My devotion to you makes no sense

This determination to make some cents

You’ve populated my mind and polluted my worth

My patience is now paper thin

Let me hold you in my hands

Sit on my itchy palms and my touchy fingertips

Pocket yourself on my thighs

Rest folded on my behind in the safety of my wallet

Please stay a while?

Pick my pocket, be mine
