Weary

Written by Carvin Weitz

My heart was unconscious,

yet my mind was alive.

My thoughts ran like tears,

as my heart tried to revive.

You were more of an expense

as I would give you more than you need,

I watered your leaves

and watched as you feed

on the light I shared with you,

not only to make your heart grow,

but to make mine bleed.

I depended on your happiness

to make me smile,

I neglected my own happiness,

but that still made me smile.

I just found it funny,

how I loved someone that couldn't love.

All I wanted from you

was for you to love me the same.

Expectations were the death of me

and yes I was to blame.

Disappointment after disappointment

and I was never the same.

Like I said,

my heart was unconscious,

my mind was alive.

My thoughts ran like tears

as my heart tried to revive.

I just wish you were in my shoes,

so you could feel exaclty what I felt.

I just wish you really loved me

and made my heart melt.
